Overview
Cyberattacks have become more sophisticated, profitable, and easier to launch in recent years bringing risk to nearly every individual and organization that access the Internet. Organizations of all sizes must develop response strategies, combining business and technical knowledge, in order to mitigate this new area of risk. This two-term Ontario College Graduate Certificate will teach you technical and risk management skills that enable organizations to assess, develop, and enhance both preventative and responsive approaches to mitigating cyber-attacks. You will be taught how to take on mission critical roles guiding organizations to prevent and effectively respond to the latest range of online threats. This program builds on the problem solving and fundamental technology skills you have developed in previous post-graduate computing and/or information technology studies, with a strong emphasis on both business and operational technical skills. Teaching in this program comes from hands-on, real-world technologies and challenges designed by Conestoga’s experienced faculty and researchers. This program has a one-term optional co-op placement.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission requires an Ontario College diploma, advanced diploma, degree or equivalent, with a minimum B average, in computer science, information technology, software engineering, software engineering technology, computer programmer/analyst, computer systems technician, or computer/mobile applications development; a graduate certificate in computer applications development or mobile solutions development at a B average or higher, or another discipline emphasising software development such as health informatics, is also considered. The programme page defers English-proficiency evidence to Conestoga's institution-wide scale, and as a postgraduate certificate the college's higher exception tier applies: IELTS Academic overall 6.5 with no band under 6.0, TOEFL iBT 88 with no skill under 22, PTE Academic 58, CAEL 70 with writing at least 60, or Duolingo English Test 120. Applicants with foreign transcripts require a course-by-course credential evaluation through ICAS or WES, and continuing into the co-op stream needs a minimum 80% session-weighted average in Level 1 with no dropped or failed courses.

Application Deadline:Domestic applicants apply through ontariocolleges.ca (college code CONS): for the Fall 2027 intake the online application opens 26 September 2026, the equal consideration date is 1 February 2027, offers may be issued from 1 November 2026, and accepted offers must be confirmed by 1 May 2027; most oversubscribed programs stop accepting applications after 1 February 2027, though many programs remain open afterward. Conestoga does not publish a separate equal-consideration date for its January intake. International applicants apply directly to Conestoga and are assessed on a rolling, first-come, first-served basis until each program fills; no fixed international closing date is published. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
