Overview
This one-year certificate program prepares students for entry-level work as 4th Class power engineers, who operate and maintain boilers, turbines, and refrigeration and air conditioning systems in commercial and industrial buildings. Coursework pairs mathematics and physics theory with the mechanical and technical knowledge needed for the role, and students train on a functioning power lab and a thermal generating plant simulator located on campus. Graduates are prepared to write the PEI Provincial Exam required to become a licensed power engineer. Instruction combines classroom lectures with practical lab work at the Marine Training Centre. Requirements

(or its provincial equivalent) with at least 70%, or applicants with three consecutive years of full-time English-medium post-secondary study completed within two years of the program start, are exempt. The program takes a September intake at the Marine Training Centre.
