This one-year certificate program introduces the essential welding processes, tools, and procedures used in the welding trade, including rigging procedures, gouging and cutting, blueprint reading, and basic to intermediate welding skills. Training emphasizes hands-on experience through extensive workshop practice at the West Prince Campus, which is a Canadian Welding Bureau test centre where students can complete weld testing. Graduates receive a Certificate in Welding Level 1 and have the option to continue their training in the second year of the welding program at the Georgetown Centre. The program is delivered on campus with a September intake. It suits students seeking an initial, hands-on credential in welding fabrication, with a clear pathway to a second year of more advanced training for those who choose to continue.
