Trades - Apprenticeship in Steamfitter/Pipefitter Apprenticeship

This four-year apprenticeship trains students to read and interpret blueprints and to assemble, maintain, and repair piping systems that carry steam, water, and various chemicals. Training combines employer-based on-the-job work with annual eight-week technical training blocks at the college over four years, leading to Journeyperson certification. After completing the program, apprentices may pursue dual ticketing in Welding or Gasfitting "B". Admission requires first securing employment with an employer willing to sponsor the apprenticeship, then completing an Apprenticeship Application and Contract through Alberta's Apprenticeship and Industry Training system. Graduates are qualified to install and maintain steam, water, and chemical piping systems across industrial, commercial, and institutional settings. The program also covers safety procedures and code compliance for pressure piping and mechanical systems.
