Overview
This diploma program at NorQuest College, delivered in partnership with Bow Valley College, develops both the creative and technical skills needed for digital design careers. Students learn design fundamentals, layout, and typography, alongside user experience, branding, interaction design, motion graphics, and video and audio production. The four-term program emphasizes project management and the ability to present, defend, and critique digital media projects, culminating in a capstone project and portfolio in the final semester. It is delivered on campus at NorQuest's downtown Edmonton campus. Graduates are prepared for design roles in digital media, marketing, and creative industries. The programme qualifies for a study permit and post-graduate work permit but is not currently open to international students.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Direct entry requires English Language Arts 30-1 at 60% or 30-2 at 65%, or successful completion of the GED test with a Language Arts score of 520; a free academic assessment can also satisfy the requirement. Non-native English speakers must submit proof no more than two years old: IELTS Academic 6.0 with no section below 6.0, TOEFL iBT 83 with no section below 21, Cambridge English 180 with no section below 165, CAEL 70, PTE Academic 59-64 with no section below 56, or Duolingo 110; alternatively, three years of secondary or one year of post-secondary education delivered in English is accepted. Students must earn at least a C grade in all first-year courses to progress to year two. The programme is not currently open to international students.
