Bachelor of Arts

The Bachelor of Arts is a four-year degree offered through Portage College in partnership with Athabasca University, allowing students to major in a range of arts disciplines. Students split coursework between on-campus classes at Portage's Cold Lake, Lac La Biche and St. Paul campuses and distance courses delivered online by Athabasca University. The program follows a multi-access learning model, giving students flexibility to combine in-person and remote study while working toward an Athabasca-conferred credential. Intakes run in fall, winter and spring. The curriculum draws on general arts coursework across humanities and social science areas, with students selecting a major as they progress. Admission from high school requires a minimum 60% average with no mark below 50% in English Language Arts 30-1 and four other Grade 12-level courses; mature applicants who are 19 or older and out of school at least one year qualify with the same average.
