Overview
This specialization in computing and the creative arts at Queen's University's School of Computing combines core coursework in computer science and mathematics with advanced study in a creative discipline, chosen from art, drama, film, or music, and leads to a Bachelor of Arts honours degree. The program is course-based, without a thesis requirement, and allows a limited number of elective credits to be taken outside the faculty. Students following the music sub-plan are given the same priority access to music courses as students in a joint honours music program. Admission Requirements: The School of Computing's page for this specialization states no entrance requirements of its own, noting only that requirements have changed and directing applicants to the current Faculty of Arts and Science calendar; admission proceeds under Queen's general Ontario Secondary School Diploma process for the Computing (QD) plan: English 4U, Advanced Functions 4U and Calculus and Vectors 4U, plus three further 4U or 4M courses, with the Computing and the Creative Arts specialization declared after admission. Applicants who are not Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or persons registered under the Indian Act are assessed at the international rate and must meet Queen's English-language proficiency requirement: IELTS Academic 6.5 with no band below 6.0, TOEFL iBT 88 with a minimum of 20 in each skill, Duolingo 120, PTE Academic 60, CAEL 70 with no band below 60, Cambridge C1 Advanced 175, or LanguageCert Academic 70.

Application Deadline:Applicants to Queen's apply through OUAC; for Fall 2027 entry the application period opens October 1, 2026, with a November 20, 2026 recommended date to preserve access to the Major Admission Award application. First-year programmes in Commerce, Health Sciences, and Nursing close February 1, 2027, with a mandatory supplementary application due February 15, 2027; all other first-year programmes close March 1, 2027. The final deadline to submit supporting documents, including transcripts and English-proficiency test scores, is March 31, 2027. Queen's publishes the same OUAC-based deadlines for domestic and international applicants and does not describe admission as rolling.
