Overview
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Queen's University offers a Master of Engineering (MEng), a research-based Master of Applied Science (MASc), and a Master of Applied Science in Artificial Intelligence. The MEng is a coursework and project-based program completed in about 12 months. The MASc programs involve coursework, research, and a thesis, typically completed in about two years. An Accelerated Master's Program is also available to qualifying third-year undergraduate ECE students, combining a research project and coursework with the final year of the undergraduate degree. Research facilities include the Centre for Energy and Power Electronics Research (ePOWER) and the Lightwave Systems Research Laboratory. Admission requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or a closely related field; domestic applicants need a minimum 75% average (or Upper Second Class Standing), while minimum averages for international applicants vary by country of study. Applicants whose first language is not English must submit an English proficiency test score.
