Overview
Geography at Queen's University is offered through the Department of Geography and Planning, preparing students to address challenges such as climate change, migration, public health, and sustainability through hands-on, interdisciplinary coursework. Students can pursue the subject as a Bachelor of Arts (48-unit Major, GPHA-M) or Bachelor of Science (60-unit Major, GPHS-M), each combined with sufficient electives to a total of 120 units for a Bachelor of Arts or Science (Honours) degree; Minor and three-year General plan options are also available. Students typically complete a general first year, including GPHY 101 and GPHY 102, before selecting a Geography plan for second year. The Department also offers a combined BAH/MPL pathway with the Master of Urban and Regional Planning program and a Certificate in Geographic Information Science, and is based in Mackintosh-Corry Hall on Queen's Kingston campus.
