This Bachelor of Science (Honours) program, offered as a Subject of Specialization in Kinesiology by the School of Kinesiology and Health Studies, examines the physiological, biomechanical, psychological, and socio-cultural factors that influence human movement, exercise, sport participation, and health. It is a direct-entry program with required first-year courses in Health Studies, Human Physiology, Biomechanics, and Psychology. Students can pursue experiential learning through Athletic Therapy and Strength and Conditioning mini-streams, working with student athletes, and hands-on laboratory work such as the Exercise Physiology Laboratory, which measures and assesses human performance and function. A research course sequence progresses from Research Methods through a Research Internship in a research lab or program to a fourth-year Honours Thesis. The curriculum combines lecture-based instruction with applied and inquiry-based learning across human movement science, sport sociology, psychology, and health, preparing students for the complex factors that influence health and wellness.
