Its three ten-week courses run concurrently rather than sequentially, examining case studies in strategic leadership communication and organizational change alongside stakeholder-engagement techniques for employees, media, and government audiences. Students choose between a blended format with one on-campus residency or a fully online path with a virtual residency, and completed credits can be applied toward the university's Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies or Master of Arts in Professional Communication.

Admission Requirements: Standard admission requires a four-year (or comparable) undergraduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, evidence of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed for master's-level study, and normally at least two years of work or volunteer experience, preferably in a leadership capacity; no minimum GPA is stated. Flexible admission is assessed on a sliding scale: applicants with three or more years of post-secondary education need at least three years of relevant leadership experience, rising to five years for two to three years of post-secondary education, and at least ten years of high-level professional communication leadership experience for less than two years of post-secondary education; flexible applicants may also be asked for a digital portfolio of previous communication work. The programme page defers to Royal Roads' institution-wide English language proficiency requirements for applicants whose first language is not English: for graduate programs, IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with a minimum 6.5 in writing and speaking and 6.0 in listening and reading, or TOEFL iBT 88 overall with a minimum 24 in writing and 20 in listening, reading and speaking.

RRU consistently closes a programme's application exactly three calendar months before that programme's own intake start date — a September 2027 intake typically closes 7 June 2027 — though a few programmes (the Master of Global Management, for example) use a six-month lead instead. Each programme lists its own upcoming intakes, running from 2026 into 2028 depending on the programme, and RRU says it may still accept a late application if space and processing time remain, but it publishes no separate international deadline and no institution-wide equal-consideration or rolling policy.
