Bachelor of Business Administration - Accounting is a bachelor's degree in Accounting programme offered by Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in Calgary, Canada. The programme runs for 4 years, delivered on campus. It carries 120.0 credits. Tuition for international students is CAD 724 per credit (CAD 254 per credit for local students).
This is a four-year bachelor's degree from SAIT's School of Business, delivered in person at the Main Campus, that builds on foundational accounting knowledge with a broader business and analytical skill set. The curriculum covers management and financial accounting together, advanced accounting topics, quantitative analysis, tax regulation, and the role of information systems and technology in producing and interpreting financial information. Ethical decision-making, integrity, and transparency are treated as core professional expectations throughout the coursework, alongside communication and critical-thinking skills. In the final year, once a student has completed at least 90 credits, the program requires a practicum or capstone experience: either applied problem-solving with an existing business or a team-based startup planning simulation, giving students a work-integrated component before graduation. Students can also pursue optional minors, including ones in construction project management and in energy, oil and gas. The standard full-time length is four years, with as many as ten academic years permitted to complete all requirements. The degree is aimed at students who want a rigorous accounting foundation together with broader business training, and it is structured to prepare graduates for further steps such as the Chartered Professional Accountant program or a Master of Professional Accounting.
