This 2.5-year diploma trains students in ultrasound technology for medical diagnostics, covering the physics of high-frequency sound waves and the instrumentation used to produce ultrasound images. Students learn to assess and image fetal and gynecologic structures, the heart and circulatory system, the abdominal cavity (including the liver, kidneys, and pancreas), and superficial tissues such as the thyroid and breast. Instruction combines sonography theory with clinical practice in patient care teams, alongside training in patient communication and handling sensitive situations. Delivery is blended, combining Main Campus and online instruction. Graduates are prepared to work as diagnostic medical sonographers in hospitals and community clinics. Entry requires meeting the School of Health and Public Safety's Entrance Testing Process. The program does not currently accept international applicants.
