Trades - Apprenticeship in Gasfitter

The Gasfitter apprenticeship trains students to size, install, test, adjust and service natural gas and propane equipment, including residential furnaces and industrial boilers, while following applicable safety codes and regulations. Depending on the class pursued, the apprenticeship runs two to three years: Class A requires three years and leads to a diploma, while Class B requires two years and leads to a certificate. Each year includes a minimum of 1,560 hours of on-the-job training and eight weeks of classroom instruction. Training is delivered in person at SAIT's Main Campus within the School of Construction. This is a Red Seal endorsed trade. Graduates receive journeyperson status through Alberta's Apprenticeship and Industry Training, and students register through Alberta's apprenticeship system. This program does not accept international applicants.
