Trades - Apprenticeship in Instrumentation and Control Technician

This apprenticeship trains students to install, repair and maintain measuring and control devices used in industrial settings, working with pneumatic, electronic and microcomputer devices that measure and control pressure, flow and temperature. The program runs four 12-month periods, with eight weeks of classroom instruction at SAIT in the first and second years, and a minimum of 1,500 hours of on-the-job training plus 10 weeks of classroom instruction in the third and fourth years. Training is delivered in person at SAIT's Main Campus, with blended learning delivery options that include scheduled classes and labs alongside unscheduled coursework. This is a Red Seal endorsed trade. Graduates receive an advanced diploma in addition to journeyperson status through Alberta's Apprenticeship and Industry Training.
