Cert in Early Childhood Education

Early Childhood Education (Certificate of Achievement) is a part-time, course-based credential from Saskatchewan Polytechnic with open admission; students do not apply to the program but instead register for individual courses, whose start dates and lengths vary. Courses are offered on-campus at Prince Albert, Regina, and Saskatoon, with online and distance options also available. The certificate is awarded once a student completes three required courses: Health, Safety and Nutrition, Child Guidance 1, and Dynamics of Play 1. Coursework covers learning through play, child guidance techniques, family and community relationships, play environments, and health, safety, and nutrition in early learning settings, preparing students to design developmentally appropriate curriculum and inviting, effective learning environments for young children. Admission has an English language proficiency requirement. Tuition is charged per course and varies accordingly.
