Production Line Welding is an applied certificate program delivered off campus through outreach and training for industry, at Saskatchewan Polytechnic's Regina and Saskatoon locations under the Nutrien School of Mining, Manufacturing and Engineering Technologies. The 10-week program provides the skills needed to perform competently in a high-volume, high-deposition welding production environment, preparing graduates for production-line welding roles rather than a full trade apprenticeship. Coursework focuses on gas metal arc welding technique for repetitive, high-output manufacturing settings. Students who complete WELD 115 (Gas Metal Arc Welding) within the program receive credit toward WELD 105 in Saskatchewan Polytechnic's broader Welding certificate program, offered at the Saskatoon, Moose Jaw, Regina and Prince Albert campuses, giving graduates a pathway into the longer credential. Graduates typically find entry-level employment in a shop, on an assembly line, or at a construction site, working in manufacturing, transportation, distribution and logistics, or food and natural resources sectors where high-volume welding production is required.
