Overview
This two-year diploma program covers a broad range of information technology skills, including network design, installation and management; computer programming in multiple languages; web development with multimedia components; hardware installation, configuration and troubleshooting; systems analysis and design; mobile application programming; end-user technical support; and related business and project management principles. The program is delivered full-time on campus at the Regina and Saskatoon locations, with some first-semester courses available online. Graduates are prepared for roles such as computer programmer, software developer, web developer, database administrator, network analyst, systems administrator, and webmaster in public and private sector organizations. The curriculum allows students some flexibility to lean toward programming, software design, or web design as they progress. Diploma graduates have the option to continue into a Bachelor of Applied Management degree with two further years of study. Applicants without the standard credential may qualify via ACCUPLACER, with minimum scores of 250 Arithmetic, 235 Advanced Algebra and Functions, 254 Quantitative Reasoning/Algebra/Statistics, 250 Reading and 245 Writing, or via 15 approved post-secondary credits. The programme applies Saskatchewan Polytechnic's institution-wide English Language Requirement: IELTS Academic overall 6.5 with 5.0 per band, TOEFL iBT 81 overall with 19 per skill, PTE Academic 63 overall with 50 per component, Duolingo English Test 110, or CAEL 60 overall with 50 per component. Admission is First Qualified/First Admitted, with applications opening September 1 for the August intake.

Application Deadline:Saskatchewan Polytechnic admits most programs on a First Qualified/First Admitted (FQFA) basis: applications open 1 September each year for both domestic and international applicants, there is no fixed closing date, and seats are filled in order of the date an applicant becomes fully qualified until the program and waitlist are full, so students are urged to apply as early as possible. A small group of Competitive programs (including the Saskatchewan Collaborative Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Medical Laboratory Technology and Practical Nursing) instead uses fixed dates for the September 2027 intake: applications open 1 October 2026, close 15 February 2027 for domestic and 31 December 2026 for international applicants, with supporting documents due 15 March 2027 (domestic) or 31 January 2027 (international) and offer letters typically issued in early April 2027. Admission for the FQFA programs is effectively rolling; the Competitive programs are not. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
