Overview
Trent University's Artificial Intelligence program is an interdisciplinary Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree that combines theoretical study of learning models and intelligence with the foundational areas of computation, statistics, cognition, and philosophy. Applicants whose first language is not English and who don't qualify for a credential-based waiver must otherwise demonstrate proficiency at or above: IELTS 6.5 (no band below 6.0); TOEFL iBT 4.5 with a minimum 4.0 in writing (2026-onward scale); Duolingo English Test 115 (undergraduate only); CAEL 60; Cambridge B2 First/C1 Advanced/C2 Proficiency 176 (no sub-score below 169); Pearson PTE Academic 59; Oxford ELLT 7 (no band below 6); or LANGUAGECERT Academic 70-74 (no score below 65). Graduate programs set their own minimums - for example, several M.Sc./M.A. programs require a B+ (77%) average in the last two years of full-time study.
