Université de Saint-Boniface's Diplôme en sciences infirmières auxiliaires is a two-year, 87-credit collegial diploma preparing graduates for bilingual practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Manitoba. Delivered in person with a fall start, the accelerated program runs from early September to mid-July in each of its two years, alternating coursework and clinical placements, with classes taught in French alongside English clinical terminology. The program includes six mandatory clinical placements totalling about 920 hours, covering adult care, complex care, pediatrics, acute care, mental health, and perinatal care, in urban, rural, and northern settings across Manitoba. It is approved by the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba and prepares graduates to sit the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination required to practise in the province. Université de Saint-Boniface is a member institution of the Consortium national de formation en santé, which supports French-language health training and offers eligible students access to specific bursaries and career-entry resources. Credits from the diploma may be transferable toward USB's Bachelor of Science in Nursing, shortening the time needed to complete that degree. The program suits students seeking a direct, clinically intensive route into bilingual practical nursing practice in Manitoba.
