This Certificate in Career Counselling (orientation) is a 30-credit undergraduate program offered at the Universite de Sherbrooke's Departement d'orientation professionnelle, on a full-time or part-time basis, with admission in the fall, winter and summer terms at the Sherbrooke campus. It gives students foundational knowledge and skills in career guidance and develops the ability to work alongside other specialists to support people with career-guidance, integration and professional-adaptation needs. Six mandatory credits cover career development theory and communication in career guidance; 21 optional credits are chosen from a wide range of courses spanning introduction to career guidance, learning processes, adult and child/adolescent development, statistics, job and training searches, group facilitation, psychometric assessment, professional ethics, counselling approaches, individual career counselling, psychopathology, interculturality, and research methods in the field; a further 3 credits may be chosen freely from across the university. It suits people already working who want additional training in career guidance, people considering a career change, and students exploring the related bachelor's program, including international students.
