The Doctorate in Research and Intervention in Psychology (Ph.D.-RI) at Universite de Sherbrooke is a 150-credit programme for bachelor's graduates in psychology who wish to combine professional licensure preparation with advanced research training. It offers three streams: clinical psychology with adults, clinical psychology with children, adolescents and parents, and work and organizational psychology, delivered on the Sherbrooke campus for the adult and organizational streams and on the Longueuil campus for the child, adolescent and parent stream. Training spans about two years of coursework and practicums followed by about four years devoted to clinical internship and doctoral thesis research, meeting the Ordre des psychologues du Quebec's (OPQ) five-year evaluation criteria so graduates become directly eligible for OPQ licensure while also being prepared for a research career. Admission is full-time only, in the fall term, and requires an agreed research supervisor from the Department of Psychology before enrolment.
