This 30-credit certificate trains administrative personnel working in or entering the municipal public sector, offered full-time or part-time at the Montreal campus with fall and winter admission. Four core courses (12 credits) introduce public administration and public policy, municipal political life and democracy, Quebec's municipal political system, and the foundations of municipal services management. Six elective courses (18 credits) are chosen from areas such as urban development, public law, human resources management, public finance policy, and comparative public administration, allowing students to tailor the credential toward a specific area of municipal practice. The programme is administered by the Faculty of Political Science and Law and suits municipal employees seeking to formalize their administrative knowledge as well as those aiming to move into public-sector management roles within city or regional government.
