The Doctorate in Engineering (Doctorat en ingenierie) is a 90-credit, third-cycle program that trains specialists to independently design and carry out a research program in the engineering of physical systems and industrial processes. Graduates learn to critically analyze scientific publications, design original research projects, work in interdisciplinary contexts, solve applied problems, and communicate findings to the scientific community. Applicants must secure a research supervisor before being admitted to the program. Full-time and part-time study are both available, delivered in person at the Rimouski campus. The program is non-contingent and admits students in the fall, winter, and summer trimesters. The program is offered at Universite du Quebec a Rimouski.

Admission Requirements: Applicants must hold a master's degree (M.Sc.A. or research-based) in engineering with a minimum average of 3.2 on 4.3, or a bachelor's degree in the field plus a minimum of five years of relevant professional experience and adequate research training. Applicants must secure a research supervisor before admission. French language proficiency must be demonstrated per institutional policy, with a test required if not already demonstrated; essential English language skills are also required.
