This 45-credit research-oriented master's program leads to a Maîtrise ès arts in social sciences of development. It is designed for graduates holding an undergraduate degree in the social sciences, or an equivalent related field, and trains them to conduct independent research and to intervene critically and autonomously in the fields of territorial, international, or Indigenous development. The curriculum combines graduate coursework with a research thesis, developing both theoretical grounding and applied research capacity, and requires a sufficient ability to read English for successful completion. The program is based at UQO's Gatineau campus and admits students in the fall and winter terms, on a full-time or part-time basis. Admission requires an undergraduate cumulative average of at least 3.2 out of 4.3 and satisfaction of UQO's French-language policy.
