This second-cycle programme leads to a Master of Arts through a 45-credit, thesis-based curriculum in multidisciplinary social sciences. Students develop advanced research and analytical competencies for studying complex social phenomena by drawing on multiple social science disciplines and engaging with major theoretical debates in the field. The thesis profile prepares graduates for doctoral studies by having them design and carry out an original research project under the supervision of an accepted research director. The programme is delivered at the Gatineau campus and can be completed on a full-time or part-time basis, with intake in the Fall, Winter, and Summer terms. Admission is open to holders of a bachelor's degree in a relevant social science discipline, and applicants without university studies may be considered on the basis of at least twelve years of relevant work experience, subject to acceptance by a research director and, where required, an interview.
