This DEC-BAC pathway builds on a completed nursing DEC (technical diploma) to extend training toward a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in nursing. It is designed for licensed practical/technical nurses who hold a DEC in nursing techniques and wish to continue their professional development. Up to 36 credits earned in the prior DEC are recognized toward the 105-credit bachelor's program, leaving roughly 69 credits to complete. Full-time completion is estimated at two to two-and-a-half years. Courses are offered mainly on campus, with some courses available in hybrid or distance format. Admission is offered in the Fall and Winter terms. Graduates registering in Quebec must become licensed with the Ordre des infirmieres et infirmiers du Quebec, and international applicants must hold equivalent recognized credentials and an active practice permit.
