BA/BS in Education at University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, Canada is a bachelor's degree in Education & Teaching programme. The programme runs for 4 years. Tuition for international students is CAD 39,156 per year (CAD 8,090 per year for local students).
This Bachelor of Education program prepares students to teach in kindergarten through grade 12 schools, combining coursework in educational theory, subject-specific pedagogy, and classroom practice. Applicants choose between an Early/Middle Years route, covering pre-kindergarten through grade 8 with broad subject exposure, and a Secondary route for grades 9 through 12 with deeper specialization in two teaching areas selected from subjects including sciences, mathematics, languages, Indigenous studies, and the arts. Practical training includes early field placements followed by an extended practicum of several months in the final year under the supervision of a mentor teacher, with an optional international practicum abroad also available. The four-year degree can be completed full-time or part-time, and study may begin off-campus through flexible learning before students move to campus for practicum components. Indigenous knowledge and perspectives are integrated across coursework, reflecting requirements set by the Saskatchewan Ministry of Education, alongside content addressing equity in education and professional identity development. The program suits students planning careers as classroom teachers in the K-12 system, offering a structured path from foundational theory through supervised classroom experience toward provincial teacher certification.
