Internationally Educated Teachers Certificate (IETC) is a certificate in Education & Teaching programme taught at University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, Canada. The programme runs for 1 year. Tuition for international students is CAD 1,347 per credit (CAD 278 per credit for local students).
The Internationally Educated Teachers Certificate is a 21-credit-unit program offered by the University of Saskatchewan's College of Education for teachers trained and certified outside Canada. It is intended for applicants who have completed at least one year of a teacher education program in their home country and hold qualification to teach there, with prior teaching experience preferred but not required. Coursework covers teacher professional development, educational administration, educational psychology, and curriculum studies, along with a required six-credit-unit component in Indigenous studies, for which INDG 107.3 is recommended among the approved course options. The certificate is a bridging credential rather than a full teaching degree, and graduates may still need to complete additional coursework before the Saskatchewan Professional Teachers Regulatory Board grants a Saskatchewan teaching certificate. Prospective applicants are expected to contact that board for an assessment of their qualifications before applying. It suits internationally trained teachers seeking a Canadian academic foundation and Indigenous studies grounding as part of the path toward Saskatchewan certification.
