Overview
Global Geography is a Bachelor of Arts (BA) examining how human societies and physical environments are connected and change over time. Students build technical skills in geographic information systems (GIS), data analysis, research methods and field techniques, applied to topics spanning climate, urbanization, migration and resource use. The program includes fieldtrips, co-op placement options, a study-abroad opportunity in Costa Rica, and the option to complete a capstone or honours thesis. Instruction takes place on the Keele campus, with both full-time and part-time study available. The program suits students interested in combining geographic theory with applied technical and field skills, preparing graduates for careers or further study in environmental analysis, urban planning, GIS and research. Entry is available in the Fall, Winter and Summer terms for first-year and upper-year students.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Ontario Secondary School Diploma applicants need ENG4U plus five additional 4U or M courses, with an academic average in the low-to-mid 70s and a final academic average of at least 68% required to maintain the offer. International Baccalaureate applicants need a minimum IB diploma score of 28 points. Equivalent secondary-school requirements apply for other provinces and countries.
