Overview

The Doctor of Civil Law (D.C.L.) in Law is offered by the Faculty of Law and is a research-intensive doctoral program with an option to specialize in Comparative Law. Research areas include human rights and legal pluralism, and intellectual property, and students may be associated with the Centre for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism, the Paul-Andre Crepeau Centre for Private and Comparative Law, the Centre for Intellectual Property Policy, or one of the Faculty's research chairs. Students have access to a Mentorship Program, a Teaching Fellowship Program, and an Associate Supervisory Program. The program develops skills in literature review, information synthesis, and independent thinking, and prepares graduates for careers in academia or industry. Admission is in the Fall term.

Requirements

Minimum GPA: 3.00 / 4.0
Admission Requirements: Applicants need an eligible bachelor's degree and an eligible master's degree, with a minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0, plus proof of English-language proficiency.
