The Master of Applied Science (MASc) in Mechanical Engineering at York University's Lassonde School of Engineering builds advanced theoretical and applied knowledge through original research supervised by faculty. Research directions include solid mechanics, thermofluids, control and aerospace systems, and multidisciplinary areas such as microfluidics, smart and multifunctional materials, and biomedical optics. Students may take complementary courses from Osgoode Hall Law School, the Schulich School of Business, or the Faculty of Education to develop professional skills alongside their technical training. The program is offered on a full-time or part-time basis with Fall, Winter, and Summer entry. Admission requires a bachelor's degree with a minimum B average, official transcripts, a cover letter, a current CV, and two confidential letters of recommendation. Applicants whose first language is not English must also meet York's English proficiency requirement, demonstrated through TOEFL or IELTS scores or an equivalent test. Graduates go on to research, industry, or doctoral study in mechanical and related engineering fields.
