BA/BS in Software Engineering

This programme trains specialists to professionally develop, implement, and maintain software systems using modern technologies and development principles, addressing software challenges while working independently or in teams under professional and ethical standards. Learning outcomes include explaining the fundamentals of computer operation, algorithms, and programming paradigms, understanding how business and legal contexts such as data protection and liability shape professional practice, describing and analysing a software problem using data from multiple sources, and applying lifecycle models and project-management methods to typical software projects. Special skills cover modelling functional and non-functional requirements, designing software architecture, components, and user interfaces, preparing documentation for deployment and administration, and verifying the quality of a finished system. Coursework includes web development, databases, computer networks, cybersecurity, DevOps, cloud computing, agile development, and big-data analytics, together with thirty-six credits of internships and a final thesis, taught through lectures, case studies, and project work with cumulative, semester-long assessment.
