BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering

Structured around the French-system "Unités d'Enseignement" model, this engineering degree is organised into four strands: general education, scientific and technical training, technological training and professional training. Each academic year is split into two semesters, and every full-time semester carries 30 credits, with 240 credits required to complete the programme overall. Graduates who register with the Council for Registration of Professional Engineers can move into roles such as site engineer, resident engineer, consulting engineer, civil or structural engineer, and various specialist engineering posts, some of which require further qualification or training beyond the degree itself. Management-track outcomes such as project manager or site manager are also listed as realistic destinations. At 30 credits per semester across eight semesters, the credit load works out to a standard four-year full-time civil engineering honours programme.
