This undergraduate degree sits at the intersection of computing and the humanities, responding to how much research and professional work in arts and humanities fields now depends on digital tools. Run by the university's Centre of Digital Humanities, the programme is deliberately multidisciplinary rather than a conventional single-subject degree.
Students build digital literacy and technical skills alongside their humanities grounding, with the explicit goal of letting graduates add a digital dimension to whatever specialism they came from, whether that is literature, history, languages or a related field. The course design favours active, participatory teaching methods over traditional lecture-based delivery, described on the programme page as a deliberate break from conventional training.
Completed over three years full time, the degree is positioned to open graduates up to adjacent disciplines and a wider professional community rather than narrowing them into a single traditional humanities career track.
