BSc (Hons) Electrical Engineering and Automation

Covering electrical, electronics and automation engineering, this honours degree responds to industry's growing need for staff who combine technical depth with strong communication and workplace safety awareness. The course can take graduates anywhere from hands-on electrical work through to systems design roles, depending on specialisation. Students develop practical and experimental skills through laboratory exercises and project work, with design skills built through coursework supported by relevant computational tools; assessment mixes coursework assignments, design studies, lab logbooks and project reports. An industrial internship of at least ten weeks is included, alongside a final-year project. Entry requires three A-level subjects plus one subsidiary subject (or an equivalent combination such as a London GCE) at the Higher School Certificate Examination level, or another accepted equivalent qualification. The honours route runs three years full time under the standard full-degree pathway.
