Overview
The Operations & Management Engineering Diploma is where you will learn both business operations best practices and industrial engineering techniques to design, control, and optimize business processes across a wide range of industries. You will complete two Business Consulting Projects where you tackle real-world business challenges with local companies to demonstrate your ability to translate your education into value, while also qualifying to study abroad for a term. Upon graduation, you'll qualify work in a wide variety of job opportunities including: continuous improvement, project management, business analysis, supply chain, quality, production, consulting, and entrepreneurship.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Applicants need English Studies 12 at 67% or equivalent (Category 2, also met by IELTS Academic 6.5 with no band below 5.5, TOEFL iBT 4.5 with no section below 3.5, PTE Academic 60, Duolingo 120, or CAEL 70, per BCIT's institution-wide English Language Proficiency page) and one of Pre-Calculus 11, Foundations of Math 11, OPMT 0199 Math for Business, or OPMT 0198 Business Math Assessment Test, each at 67%, or another acceptable BC or Yukon course; BCIT recommends OPMT 0199 or OPMT 0023 for applicants needing to strengthen their math first. This program has a single September intake each year; applications open October 1, with a domestic deadline of September 1 and an international deadline of July 2 (or the next business day). Applicants are accepted on a first-qualified basis as long as space remains. International students need a valid BCIT study permit and must complete the mandatory work component to graduate.
