Admission Requirements: This McGill program page carries no admission criteria of its own; it directs applicants to the university's general admission requirements, and to enter you apply to the Faculty of Engineering, confirmed on McGill's own Architecture admissions listing. Under McGill's institution-wide rules, Quebec CEGEP graduates are admitted directly from their DEC into the program, following the required Science/Engineering-stream prerequisite courses; Canadian applicants from other provinces are assessed on their senior secondary record, for example Ontario applicants on the average of their 'Top 6' 4U/4M courses, with at least four of the six and all prerequisites at the 4U level; international applicants are assessed by their own school system (US high school, IB, British-pattern, or other) and are normally admitted with an extra Freshman (U0) year. Admission is by academic record only, and meeting the published minimums does not guarantee a place. English proficiency is required unless exempt: IELTS Academic 6.5 with no band below 6.0, TOEFL iBT 90, Duolingo English Test 125, or PTE Academic 65.

For entry in September 2027, Quebec CEGEP and Quebec high-school applicants must apply by 1 March 2027 (documents due 15 April 2027); applicants from Ontario and other Canadian provinces must apply by 1 February 2027 (documents due 4 May 2027). International applicants, including those on a U.S. high-school or IB curriculum, must apply by 15 January 2027 (documents due 1 March 2027). The application portal opens 1 October 2026.
