Carleton's School of Canadian Studies offers one of the oldest and most comprehensive master's programs in Canadian Studies in Canada. The interdisciplinary MA examines Canadian political, cultural, and social life in a changing pluralistic society, drawing on approaches from across the humanities and social sciences. Students can pursue a general MA or specialize through a Digital Humanities collaborative specialization or a Heritage Planning and Studies concentration. The program is delivered in person over two years with a single Fall admission intake, and offers both thesis and non-thesis completion pathways. Coursework combines core seminars in Canadian Studies with electives chosen according to the student's area of interest, culminating in a thesis, research paper, or major project depending on the pathway and specialization selected.
