The Master of Arts in Migration and Diaspora Studies is an interdisciplinary program examining refugee movements, migration, mobility and diasporas, and their cultural, social, economic and political implications. Coursework addresses cultural and social identities, diversity and integration, exile and memory, forced migration, and refugee communities, drawing on perspectives from across the social sciences and humanities. Students choose among three pathways: a coursework-only route, a research-essay route, or a thesis route, with experiential learning options including co-op placements and practicums. The program is delivered in person and normally takes two years of full-time study to complete, structured as six terms for the thesis pathway or ten courses for non-thesis pathways. Admission is offered for the Fall term. Graduates gain training in interdisciplinary research on migration and displacement, preparing them for roles in policy, settlement services, international organizations, and further graduate study.
