The Master of Science in Neuroscience trains students in neuroscience research across topics including the immune system and psychiatric disorders, neuroendocrine regulation of eating and metabolism, the effects of environmental toxins on mental health, brain plasticity and recovery, the neuronal mechanisms underlying learning and memory, and the molecular and genetic mechanisms of behaviour. Students gain research experience spanning laboratory work through to the dissemination of findings, working with faculty across the affiliated neuroscience research community. A Collaborative Specialization in Accessibility is available as an add-on to the degree. The program normally takes two years of full-time study to complete. Admission is offered for the Fall term. Students who complete the MSc and intend to continue to the PhD may have the option of being fast-tracked into the doctoral program. Graduates are prepared for further doctoral study or research careers in neuroscience and related health fields.
