Offered by Cégep André Laurendeau in Montréal, Canada, Diploma in Technologie de l'architecture is a diploma in Architecture programme. The programme runs for 3 years. Teaching is in French. Tuition for international students is CAD 19,610 per year (CAD 3,740 per year for local students).
Technologie de l'architecture is a technical DEC (221.A0) at Cégep André-Laurendeau covering the design and production of architectural projects. The program develops skills for intervening at every stage of a construction project's design and execution, covering building science, materials knowledge, sustainable-development concepts, the production of architectural plans and specifications, and the fundamentals of construction-site management and administration. Students learn industry software including AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Teaching is workshop-based and practice-oriented, supported by a materials library, a dedicated workshop, and a creation studio, along with site visits to construction sites, architecture firms, the Canadian Centre for Architecture, and manufacturing facilities. Creative coursework includes drawing, photography, sketching, model-making, and virtual modelling of objects and buildings. A DEP-DEC bridge exists for students holding a construction-related DEP, allowing recognition of up to eight courses after a review of their file, and some students take part in international architecture competitions or study placements. Graduates work for architecture, engineering, and urban-planning firms, real-estate appraisal firms, municipalities, government bodies, construction and renovation companies, and building-materials suppliers, and can continue to university programs in architecture, urban planning, industrial design, or construction engineering at institutions such as Université de Montréal, Université Laval, ÉTS, UQAM, or Université de Sherbrooke. It suits students combining technical precision with visual and spatial creativity.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Prerequisites (préalables), exactly as published on the program's own page: DES + TS 4e, or SN 4e + ST 4e, or ATS 4e; alternatively DES + Mathématiques 436 + Sciences physiques 436. No minimum grade, interview, portfolio, or language test beyond the general Quebec-college process is stated on the program page. Admission follows the college's general process: apply online through the Service régional d'admission du Montréal métropolitain (SRAM) at admission.sram.qc.ca, which handles admission for every Montreal-area Cégep, with the college making the final decision. First-round deadlines are 1 March for Fall (applications open mid-January) and 1 November for Winter (applications open mid-September); where more qualified applicants apply than there are seats, the Cote R (R-score), based on cumulative average, ministerial-exam results and program prerequisites, ranks candidates.
Application Details
Application Deadline:Domestic applicants apply through SRAM: Fall 2027 entry opens mid-January 2027 with a first-round deadline of 1 March 2027; Winter 2027 entry opens mid-September 2026 (SRAM: 15 September 2026) with a deadline of 1 November 2026. International applicants also use SRAM: the Fall 2027 deadline is 14 March 2027; the Winter 2027 international window already closed 31 May 2026, so the live one is Winter 2028 entry, closing 31 May 2027. Only a handful of technical programmes (Soins infirmiers, Techniques d'éducation à l'enfance, Techniques de travail social, Gestion des opérations et de la chaîne logistique, and one more) admit international students. Admission is not rolling beyond SRAM's rounds. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
