The AEC Courtage immobilier résidentiel (EEC.1Y) is an Attestation d'études collégiales from Cégep André-Laurendeau, in the sales, marketing and e-business field. A newly revised programme, it runs 585 hours, about eight months for the day cohort, delivered in a hybrid format with most instruction at a distance. It is recognized by the Organisme d'autoréglementation du courtage immobilier du Québec (OACIQ) and prepares graduates to sit the OACIQ certification examination required to practise as a residential real estate broker. The three-session curriculum covers an overview of real estate brokerage practice, real estate and business law, statutory real-estate laws, the Real Estate Brokerage Act, residential building construction elements, residential real estate appraisal, mortgage financing, residential brokerage contracts and purchase offers. The programme aims to prepare graduates to carry out the full range of tasks and functions of a residential real estate broker, developing the working methods, tools and professional conduct the occupation requires.
