This new three-year DEC, launching in fall 2026, trains electrical engineering technologists specializing in programmable electronics for students with logical minds who enjoy hands-on work in programming, electricity, prototyping, and connected objects. The curriculum spans five areas: programming (microcontrollers, connected-object programming, and HMI/GUI user-interface development), electronics (circuit analysis, power converters, and simulation tools), fabrication (PCB manufacturing, 3D printing, and prototyping), networking (IoT communication and cybersecurity basics for connected devices), and automation and robotics (industrial programmable controllers, sensors, and process robotization). Training takes place in newly renovated, industry-adapted laboratories, and students complete projects in partnership with real companies. Graduates are prepared for roles designing, programming, and maintaining embedded and connected-device systems across manufacturing, electronics, and industrial-automation employers. As a first cohort program, class sizes and industry partnerships are expected to grow alongside the sector's demand for programmable-electronics technologists.
