This three-year DEC trains architectural technologists to work in architecture offices, engineering firms, construction companies, and government agencies. Students learn to produce plans and specifications, understand and apply different architectural styles, and develop technical drawing skills using both manual methods and computer-aided design, including 3D modelling and animation. Coursework covers building science, construction materials, and detailing within the professional and legal frameworks that govern building projects. A signature feature of the program is the BRICC, a student-managed interactive renovation box used as a real-world design and construction project throughout the curriculum. Graduates are prepared to support architects and engineers by producing technical drawings, coordinating construction documentation, and applying building codes and standards on residential, commercial, and institutional projects. The program balances technical drafting skills with an understanding of design principles and the realities of the construction industry.
