Overview
This program (Techniques de l'informatique, IT Infrastructure profile) trains students to design, manage, and secure computer networks and IT infrastructure, covering networks, servers, cloud services, and data security. Coursework covers planning the implementation or migration of an IT infrastructure, automating installation and configuration, and working with cloud computing services, so that graduates can choose, configure, and manage the tools needed for system performance and security. The three-year Diploma of College Studies (DEC) includes a paid summer work-study (alternance travail-études) option, credit recognition for DEP holders entering the DEC, and a DEC-BAC agreement that can grant recognition of courses, and in some cases credits equivalent to a full university year, toward a bachelor's degree, with the exact amount depending on the student's college GPA (cote R). Graduates work as IT infrastructure or network technicians responsible for deploying, administering, and securing organizational computer systems, or continue to university studies in computer science or information technology.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Applicants need a DES, a DEP, training judged equivalent by the cégep, or at least 24 cumulative months of interrupted full-time study with sufficient training and experience. DEP holders must also have passed Secondary 5 language of instruction, Secondary 5 second language, and Secondary 4 mathematics. Direct entry from secondary school additionally requires Secondary 4 Technical-Science or Science mathematics, or Secondary 5 Culture, Société et Technique mathematics.
