Overview

This Double DEC combines the Individu, culture et société profile of Sciences humaines with the Musique program, letting students pursue a broad social-science education alongside serious musical training over three years and graduate with two diplomas. The Sciences humaines side covers psychology, sociology, geography, history, political science, and economics, including three dedicated psychology courses and field-based coursework in sociology and history, supported by a shared social-science pavilion, a student lounge, and a peer-tutoring help centre. The music side lets students choose a classical or jazz stream and develop skills in performance, composition, arrangement, technology, or research, supported by dedicated music-technology labs, recording studios, soundproof practice rooms, and a concert hall. As with the college's other Double DEC programs, students combining these two fields receive additional pedagogical support given the heavier combined workload, within departments the college describes as active and offering a variety of special activities. It suits students who want to combine a broad social-science education with continued serious musical study.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: This double-DEC pairs Sciences humaines (individu, culture et société) with Musique. The college's double-DEC admissions page requires CST 4e secondaire or Mathématiques 416 for the Sciences humaines half; the Musique half carries no extra course requirement but makes admission conditional on a live audition held around mid-March, for which a preparatory workbook is provided. Applicants qualify with a Diplôme d'études secondaires (DES) from the youth or adult sector, or a Diplôme d'études professionnelles (DEP) plus passes in fifth-secondary language of instruction, fifth-secondary second language and fourth-secondary mathematics, or training the Cégep judges equivalent. No distinct English- or French-language test score is set; language ability is covered by those fifth-secondary language courses. Candidates must also meet the Ministry's program-specific admission conditions, the Cégep's own admission policy and Règlement no. 12 on academic success.

Application Details

Start Date: September
Application Deadline: Domestic applicants apply through the Service régional d'admission du Montréal métropolitain (SRAM): Cégep Marie-Victorin's own admission page references 'session automne 2027' deposits handled directly on admission.sram.qc.ca, where the equal-consideration date is 1 March 2027 for Fall 2027 entry and 1 November 2026 for Winter 2027 entry (applications opening 15 September 2026), with later rounds in late April, late May and late November respectively while seats remain. International applicants apply through the same SRAM portal: the college's own international page fixes a Fall closing date of 14 March, i.e. 14 March 2027 for Fall 2027 entry, and advises applying as early as possible because of immigration-processing timelines; no winter international deadline is published. Admission is rolling round to round until seats fill, but the international date is firm. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
