Overview

Conservation Enforcement - Bachelor of Applied Science is a two-year post-diploma degree at Lethbridge Polytechnic that builds on the Natural Resource Compliance diploma. Described by the institution as the only degree of its kind in Canada, it prepares graduates to manage problem wildlife, investigate violations, and enforce natural resource laws. The program is delivered face-to-face on the main Lethbridge Polytechnic campus, with lectures, labs, and hands-on training. It covers Years 3 and 4 of study following a related diploma. A valid Standard First Aid or Wilderness First Aid certificate and/or CPR certification is often required by employers for eligibility to work in the field. Transfer students with a related diploma or equivalent natural resource management credential and additional law enforcement education may also be admitted. The program begins each September.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Graduates of the Natural Resource Compliance diploma from Lethbridge Polytechnic are accepted directly, with a minimum GPA of 2.00 or equivalent required for admission. Transfer students require a diploma in natural resource management or equivalent, with additional law enforcement education, and a minimum GPA of 2.00.
