This two-year pre-university DEC program at Marianopolis College examines the social, historical, economic, legal, and political foundations of the modern world, leading to the Diplome d'etudes collegiales (DEC) in Social Science. Faculty from ten disciplines team-teach courses that explore how societies are organized and how economic, political, and legal systems interconnect. Students may choose a Math option that adds Calculus 1 and Linear Algebra to the standard curriculum. Students with strong academic standing may pursue an Honours Distinction in Social Science after their first semester. A mentorship program pairs students with alumni working in related fields. Graduation requires completing all program courses, an integrative project serving as the comprehensive assessment, and the language exit exam set by Quebec's Ministere de l'Enseignement superieur. The program leads toward university studies in law, politics, economics, and related fields.
