The Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Law is a thesis-based, research-intensive program offered by the Faculty of Law, developing skills in original thinking, critical reading, and legal writing. Alongside a general option, students may specialize in Air and Space Law, focusing on aviation and air and space regulation, conventions, and treaties; or in Bioethics, covering the conceptual and practical dimensions of the field; or, subject to course availability, in Comparative Law, covering civil, commercial, or human rights law. Students complete a thesis evaluated by an examiner, without a thesis defence. The Faculty of Law is recognized internationally for scholarship spanning both the civil and common law traditions, comparative and trans-systemic approaches, and Indigenous perspectives. Admission requires an eligible bachelor's degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 and English-language proficiency. The program admits students in the Fall term only.
